Jason Mraz, an extremely talented young singer, once wrote a song called “Life is Wonderful”, where he said, “It takes an egg to make a hen; It takes a hen to make an egg; There is no end to what I’m saying.” This seems to be a universal wisdom, which can also be applied to art. Let us say it this way: it takes art to make art, because art itself is a source of inspiration, library of knowledge, depository of ideas, and a storeroom of instruments and techniques. There has always been a strong bond between the art already created and the art to be created in the near or far future. At Cruzine magazine we believe in the existence of such bond, and we make our own modest contribution to maintaining that link by sharing different art works with our audience of designers, photographers, illustrators, and simply fans of art and design.

Excelent collages without the use of digital technology, this is the result of the work by the American artist Elizabeth Hoecke using vintage paper and glue sticks creating surreal scenes and layering different elements of natural settings between them. “Elizabeth (Beth) Ryan Hoeckel was born and raised in Baltimore, MD USA and has been pursuing artistic endeavors since a very young age. She attended Carver Center for Arts magnet high school, and in 1997 earned a merit scholarship to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Beth can currently be found working on Collage, Mixed Media Painting/Drawing, and Photography in her studio in Baltimore City. She contributes artwork to international magazines and websites and exhibits her work both locally and nationwide.”

 | As the country of Egypt was reborn earlier this year, +Wael Ghonim encouraged me to come visit. I had never been before and I had my reservations but I made the journey there a couple of months later. I discovered an amazing place at an amazing time. Ver o comentar la publicación de Eduardo Ugalde »I thought I would stop by the pyramids just to check them off my list but I found them incredibly awe inspiring -- their scale in space and time, the perfection of their form, and the isolation of the spaces within. I posted one photo before. Here I have attached a number of shots. The inner photos are all inside the Great Pyramid. For the outside photos, I have included some of the exposure bracketed shots in case some of you HDR whizzes want to make some magic with them (sorry no raw). I will post more from that trip soon. Anthony Coscia, principal in Coscia Day Architecture and Design, created for himself and his wife a 2,250 square foot home on a 40 ft wide suburban lot in the artistic neighbourhood of Venice, Los Angeles, in California.
The Skywave house is a hovering sculptural form emerging from a single articulated plane that contorts to produce unique interior spaces over a tall-glassed in first level.
A curved sheet of steel provides shade and protection, while the increased sense of space is accomplished with large glass walls, an enclosed outdoor living room and the multi level open plan.
